Our First Home

The other day, i reconnected with a friend on facebook! She was our neighbor when we live in Central Point, Oregon. I asked her if she still lived in that same house? she said No, but she leaves close. So, one day drove by my old house and took this picture for me! John and I loved this little house. It was 1600 square feet and it was our very first home we bought together in 1999. We lived in this house for 5 years. I remember that we payed $150,000 for this house and we sold it for $230,000 in 2004. The market was SO hot that year. It's been the most money we have ever made on a home!! John, did all the landscaping and he put up the fence around the house, with the help of the missionaries. It still looks the same as it did when we lived there.

This Picture Has a Story

Here are the rules:

*Open your first photo folder.
*Scroll down to the 10th picture. (if you don't have 10 in that one, then go the next folder that does).
*Post that photo and the story behind that photo on your blog.
*Tag 5 friends to do the same.

The story on this picture. This is the 10th picture i found on my computer. It was from this past summer in July. My brother-in-law, Dan and his wife, Angela just adopted twin boys in June. One weekend they invited us over to hang out and to meet the new boys. Dan also needed some help with a leaky faucet. While my sister-in-law was resting and while Carter and Brady were sleeping, i decided to take my 3 kids and my nephew Tyler to go swimming. This photo makes me laugh, because it took them many times to get on this raft and stay on for a picture. That day they had SO much fun swimming at the pool! We always have a lot of fun hanging out with them.

The five people i have tagged:

*Angela
*Melissa
*Kate
*Stacy
*Tricia

I can't wait to see what your 10th photo is! Girls, don't let me down! ;-)

Turkey Disguise

Garrett came home from school Monday with a project for Thanksgiving. They had to disguise a turkey and then they had to write about it. This is what he did: If I was a turkey at Thanksgiving time, I would disguise myself as a FOOTBALL PLAYER. I would wear a HELMET, CLEATS, PANTS, and a JERSEY. There are many reasons why I would disguise myself. The first reason is SO NO ONE WOULD EAT ME. The second reason is IF I'M DRESSED LIKE A FOOTBALL PLAYER NO ONE WILL FIND ME. The third reason is EVERYONE LOVES WATCHING FOOTBALL ON THANKSGIVING. I would not want to be any one's Thanksgiving dinner! I thought this was so cute, and Garrett came up with all the answers to write about his Turkey Disguise! He did a great job!

Ward Split

On Sunday, November 1st, 2009, our ward was split. They took a portion of the members from Katy 1st, and a few members from Katy 3rd. We were SO surprised that we were still in the boundaries of Katy 3rd Ward. The new ward is called The Katy 4th Ward, they will be attending the old Katy Building. I'm So grateful we can still attend at the Richmond Stake Center! I love this building, because it is brand new, and its SO close to our house then any other building. There were about 850 in attendance at that meeting. We arrived at church at 7:45, so that john could help set up chairs. They also, put up a second sacrament table, so that 24 deacons could pass the sacrament to everyone! It was wonderful to hear all the testimonies. we will miss some wonderful people, who are in the new ward!

This picture was taken from the back of the gym. This is all the chairs, that my husband, helped set up that morning.

This is the map, that showed everyone which ward they would be attending now

We have only been in this area for almost 18 months, and to watch the area and the church grow out here is amazing!! It will continue to grow too!!

Thomas' Last 11 Year Old Campout

Last Friday October 30, Thomas and his Dad, went on their last campout with the 11 year olds. Thomas will be turning 12 in a month and a half! They camped at the Brazos Bend Park! They had a great time. i guess the weather was a lot cooler and they were able to have a nice campfire! Thomas was in charge of doing the program that night! They talked about Ghost Stories. After the boys made breakfast, they went on a hike around the camp, and they saw some, alligators, deers, and many more types of animals!! i really think they enjoyed this campout, because it wasn't too hot!! this time of year is perfect for camping!!
